The Prophecies of Daniel: Part 3, Daniel and Alexander the Great.

The Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus, tells the story in his book, Jewish Antiquities (11.317-345), of how Alexander the Great saw himself fulfilling the prophecies of Daniel...
Towards the end of Tyre’s siege, Alexander sent a message to Jaddua, the high priest of Jerusalem, with a request for assistance in the form of auxiliaries (foot soldiers and manual labor), provisions and the tribute Darius was supposed to receive. (A large army sitting for seven months in one place consumes a lot of food and animal fodder. In addition, the causeway Alexander built to assault Tyre required lots of manpower to construct.) Alexander also asked Jerusalem to switch allegiance from Darius to Alexander, which would make sense since Alexander had conquered half of the Levant anyway.
A relatively small city like Jerusalem would be foolish to deny Alexander his request, seeing as to what was about to happen to Tyre. However, Jaddua’s reply to Alexander’s letter was not expected. Jaddua said that “he had given his oath to Darius not to bear arms against him; and he said that he would not transgress this while Darius was in the land of the living.” This angered Alexander to the point where he promised, as soon as Tyre and nearby Gaza were taken, to teach the high priest and Jerusalem a lesson. That it was not wise to keep your oath to the enemy of a conquering army while it was in your neighborhood.

Update on Books
One Publisher has gotten back to me. He said he liked the book, but that it is too long. I knew this would be a sticking point for a publisher to take a chance on my book. True 226,000 words is a big book. Most novels run less than 90,000. It’s risky to publish a new untested author let alone a book that thick. This is how I answered his concerns:
“The story of the last days will be so big, one character will not be able to see and experience the whole panorama. You’ll have the conflict between factions at home: Sanpedro valley, the Second American Civil War, the persecution and execution of Christians and Jews. There’re the events in the Middle East: The rise of the Caliphate and the Mahdi, the calling of the Two Witnesses and their ministry among the Jews and how they keep Gog’s army at bay for three years, the appearance of Jesus Christ and the 144k to save Jerusalem, the preaching of the 144k (The harvest at earth’s end). In the US you will have the coming chaos and the eventual cleansing of America through war, famine and plagues, and eventually the return of the Lost Ten Tribes. Worldwide there will be World War III, the formation of a world government, and the chaos that it will bring. There are also scenes from the other side of the veil.
To see and experience all that will occur in the end times, I will need multiple POVs, I chose four main threads and two minor ones at the start. I will add a Jerusalem thread in Book II and a third, the Lost Ten Tribes thread much later. One of the main characters will be killed but he will continue in the spirit world.
I have big plans. I am creating a big and unique world, one where I will not be able to fill and tell all of the stories, even in 200k word books. Eventually I will invite other authors to contribute, short stories or even co-author books, in The Harvest at Earth’s End Universe I am creating. YA fiction is just one of those branches.
About long novels: I loves to read long novels, in fact when I go into a bookstore, I skip the thin books and go for the thicker novels. Why? I enjoy immersing myself into the world the author has created. I like more bang for the buck. All of my favorite authors routinely publish big books: Gerald N. Lund, JRR Tolkien, James Clavell, Stephen King, David Weber, JK Rowling, Tom Clancy, George RR Martin. John Ringo, Eric Flint, etc. These fill my bookshelves and more.
I can understand cutting away the fat. An experienced outside view will find it better than I. But not the muscle or bone that is the THEE Universe or the characters. I will need to be persuaded.”
He is helpful and has given me great advice. I will make a decision soon as to which publishing rout I will make. Traditional publishing, Self-publishing or a hybrid of somewhere in between. I will keep you posted. JKS

An Interview with Quinton Morfran: Deputy Secretary-General of the UN
Today I have traveled to New York City to interview one of the true villains of my book, A Half Hour of Silence. I am visiting with Quinton Morfran, the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN. In my book I expose his true role in international politics and his plan to enslave the world.
The security guard directed me to the private elevator that only Morfran and his visitors used. I felt nervous knowing the caliber of the man whom I was about to meet. Joseph Stalin would be in good company with Quinton Morfran.
After a short anxious wait, Morfran’s personal secretary showed me into his office. The office is was big as my house, wall to wall luxurious carpet, sculptures filled glass cases and well-known artists’ work adorned the high walls.
Quinton Morfran stood from his desk and offered a hand in greeting.
“Good Morning Mr. Morfran,” I said, shaking his hand. “I would like to thank for giving me a few minutes of you time.” I said, barely keeping the tremor out of my voice.
Morfran indicated a stuffed leather chair near his desk. “Not all Mr. Sellers,” he replied in a pleasant tone, sitting easily in his plush, high-backed chair. “I am happy to speak with you and straighten out a few things.”
“Oh, really. What would you like to clarify?” I said, my nerves easing, being replaced by a piqued interest.
“Some of the wild accusations you make about me in your book,” Morfran replied matter of factly, waving a manicured hand in my direction, his smile fading.
Ah, I thought. He must have read the advanced reading copy I sent him. This will certainly be an interesting conversation.
“Which one? That you are a member of a secret organization to take over the world or the one where you have sold your soul to Lucifer?” I asked mater of factly..."

Wars and Rumor of Wars.... Matthew 24:6 Prophesies in the News:
By Hollie McKay,
April 29, 2020
..."Last week, WFP's (World Food Programme) executive director David Beasley cautioned the UN Security Council that the risk of large-scale famine in much of the developing world was now "of biblical proportions" as a result of the global pandemic...We can expect more global deaths due to secondary impacts of COVID-19 than the virus itself — the World Food Program currently estimates that 265 million will be on the brink of starvation by the end of the year."
At the beginning of 2020, some 130 million were already facing dire levels of hunger. That figure could now more than double the number of people facing acute hunger to 265 million by the end of this year...."

The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro...Isaiah 24:20
So, what could cause the earth to “reel to and fro”, " the moon being turned to blood" or the "stars to fall from heaven"? In volumes 1 and 2, I posted articles about a possible ninth planet orbiting our sun. A close encounter with a large gravitational force, such as another planet, could make the earth ‘reel’ or ‘wobble’ on its axis. In volume 3 I posted an article on pole shifts. Articles for this month and the next will be another possible explanation for these events prophesied in the Bible, Volcanic eruptions:
"In 1257, a catastrophic eruption occurred at Samalas volcano on the Indonesian island of Lombok. The event had a probable Volcanic Explosivity Index of 7, making it one of the largest volcanic eruptions during the current Holocene epoch."(Mnt Pinatubo 1991 eruption.)

"The source of one of the most enigmatic eruptions over the last 10,000 years may have been conclusively identified. An eruption that occurred in 1257 or 1258 A.D. left one of the largest climate signals in the past few thousands years, producing significant sulfate spikes in the ice caps in 1258-59 and evidence from around the world of dramatic weather shifts for years afterwards. These effects looked to be on par with Tambora in 1815, but the source of such a large climate signal has been enigmatic. How do you hide an eruption that was as large as Tambora and happened less than 1000 years ago? I tried to tackle this mystery, looking at some potential sources for this massive climate signal captured in the ice cores. There were suspects, but none of them really matched perfectly. Then, in 2012, Franck Lavigne said at an American Geophysical Union Chapman Meeting of Volcanoes and the Atmosphere that a source had been identified, but didn’t reveal which volcano. I did some sleuthing and made the guess that Rinjani was the volcano that was being implicated. Since then, the mystery of the 1257-58 A.D. eruption source remained.
...historical chronicles in Indonesia suggest a catalysmic eruption that buried the capital city of Lombok’s kingdom at the time (Pamatan) before the end of the 13th century, which would time perfectly with a massive eruption of Rinjani...."

The Third Temple
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:" Amos 9:11
by John P. Pratt, V. Garth Norman, Lance Harding, and Jason Jones
15 Aug 2008
from Magdalene Publishing
"Newly discovered evidence indicates possible original location of Solomon's temple."
"Golden Gate on the east wall of the Temple Mount dates back to 1541 AD and is the oldest of the eight gates of Jerusalem today. During the time of the First Temple (10th century BCE to 586 BCE) the eastern Gate was the main entrance into the Temple area. The rebuilt eastern Gate of Jerusalem was the main entrance to the Second Temple area, and the same gate that Jesus entered on a humble donkey in His triumphal entry on Palm Sunday.
This eastern Gate of the Second Temple which Jesus entered may have had only one archway. The original gate of the Second Temple that Nehemiah built was maybe 1000 feet south of where the eastern Gate is today and is underground, as documented by archaeologist James Fleming in 1969. It was through the lower gate (now underground) that Jesus would have entered Jerusalem in 30 AD.d..."

"History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new." Eccles. 1:9

This cartoon in 1918 from the Illinois Department of Public Health was meant as an influenza warning, but in practice, it would clearly violate today’s recommended six feet for social distancing.
From The Beverly Review
"Two women, strangers to each other, were riding in a crowded Chicago mass-transit car downtown.
One woman repeatedly sneezed and coughed. The second woman turned to her and asked her to please cover her mouth and nose.
“Mind your own business,” replied the first woman.
“This is my business,” said the second. “I have to work, and I cannot afford to get sick. You have no right to sneeze on me and spread germs.”
The first quickly replied. “If you don’t want to get sneezed on, then don’t ride public transportation.”
That story was shared by Dr. W.A. Adams in his column in the Chicago Tribune, “How to Keep Well.”
Although it could be a story from today, Adams published his column on Oct. 22, 1918, during the height of the Spanish flu pandemic.
This altercation happened about a week before public health warnings at the time were issued: the deadly infection raging through the city was spread by nose and mouth droplets.
Adams hoped that if any good came out of that pandemic, people would be less careless about sneezing and coughing.
The similarities between Chicago today and over 100 years ago show that history does indeed repeat itself..."

"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him..." Ezekiel 38:2
By Joel Richardson
From Jewish Voice
"Is Gog emerging in front of our eyes? We may find out very soon. One thing is clear, however: the Lord wants us all to remain alert and on our knees.
In his now-classic 1706 Bible commentary, Matthew Henry referenced the variety of opinions that existed among biblical scholars concerning which nations to which Ezekiel the Prophet was referring when he spoke of the great End-Time enemies of Israel known as “Gog and Magog.” According to Henry, some scholars, “…think they find them afar off, in Scythia, Tartary, and Russia. Others think they find them nearer the land of Israel, in Syria, and Asia the Less.”1 The term “Asia the Less,” refers to the region now occupied by Turkey.
Even 300 years ago, biblical scholars couldn’t agree if Ezekiel was talking about a Last-Days assault of Israel led by Russia or Turkey. This debate continues today. Many popular Bible teachers claim that Gog will come from Russia, while others claim that Ezekiel’s prophecy actually points to Turkey. Old Testament biblical scholar Michael S. Heiser recently stated, “Identifying Gog as Russia is exegetically indefensible…Genesis 10:2 located Meshech and Tubal in Anatolia (modern Turkey), not Russia.”..."

Come, Follow Me,...Matthew 4:19
By: J. Lee
Most of us have wondered at one point or another what the purpose of life is. The answers to this question will vary greatly depending on whom you ask. It’s a query that has puzzled man from the dawn of history. The shortest and most concise explanation I have found is in the book of Amos, which simple states, “Prepare to meet thy God.” (Amos 4:12) Can you imagine how nearly impossible it would be to finish a race or any other endeavor without a map, let alone instructions? It is for this reason why I will shift my attention to, in hopes to give people a perspective of hope, that independent of the affairs in the world, that assurance and hope can be achievable by anyone who seek it. It is this knowledge that strengthens me to carry on forward toward the goal, to meet my God.
“I’ve never seen someone die before, not until now.” Those were the words I inscribed in my journal that fateful day. Little did I know how much that day would change my life..."

Emergency Preparedness
"If ye are prepared ye shall not fear..."
From American Gun Association
"Famine is a disaster where people in the area experience an extreme shortage of food supply. The cause of famine includes disasters such as floods, heatwave or drought, crop failure, government-implemented policies, war, and overpopulation.
Some would think this only happens in third world countries. But this can happen to anyone anywhere they may be.
So what would you do should you experience a famine firsthand in your lifetime? A famine can last for days, weeks, months, or even years!
When it does, it may already be too late for some, hopefully not for you. Here are a few things to learn in case a famine does strike..."
