The Prophecies of Daniel: Part 7, The Ram, Goat and the Little Horn
During his long and productive life, Daniel interpreted at least two dreams, read the writing of warning on the wall at Belshazzar's final feast, and had five visions of future events. Daniel's five visions sprang from his desire to understand the prophecies about his people he learned from other prophets and the disturbing images he saw from his interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's original dream. His first vision, recorded in chapter 7, clarified what he learned in his interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream. The dream and visions all dealt with the kingdoms that followed Babylon and would have a great bearing on Daniel's homeland of Israel and its people who lived in exile in Mesopotamia. This article will examine his second vision found in Daniel chapter 8 which continues to focus in on three of these kingdoms. The ram, the goat, and the little horn.

Frequently Asked Questions
Steve from Pennsylvania asks: Many people say that Antiochus Epiphanes is the little horn and the desecrator from Daniel 88:11-13; 9:27; 11:31; and 12:11. How can this be when the Lord himself says that Daniel's prophecy wouldn't be fulfilled until after his death and resurrection?

Wars and Rumor of Wars.... Matthew 24:6 Prophesies in the News:
So far, Biden has 264 electoral votes — just six away from the White House — and Trump has 214. (File/AFP)
JUNE 26, 2020
"DUBAI: Democractic presidential candidate Joe Biden's position on the Iran deal could lead to a "violent confrontation" between the two countries, local daily The Jerusalem Post reported, citing an Israeli minister.
"Biden has said openly for a long time that he will go back to the nuclear agreement," Settlements Minister Tzachi Hanegbi said.
Hanegbi said most Israelis, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saw the 2015 deal as "mistaken – and that's an understatement."
"If Biden stays with that policy, there will, in the end, be a violent confrontation between Israel and Iran," he said. . ."

The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro...Isaiah 24:20
If the poles reverse—and the magnetic field weakens—we could see auroras, like this one in Canada's Yukon territory, at lower latitudes.
From animal migrations to human communications, a reversal of Earth's magnetic poles could seriously mess with life as we know it.
By Simon Worrall, FEBRUARY 1, 2018
From National Geographic
"Many facets of our lives depend on the Earth's magnetic field, anchored by the North and South poles, from the electrical grid that powers our computers to the satellites that let us watch TV. Turtles and other creatures navigate with it. But as Alanna Mitchell shows in her new book, The Spinning Magnet, it wasn't always that way. Indeed, as little—in geologic time, anyway—as 780,000 years ago, the poles reversed. It may be about to happen again, some scientists believe, with potentially disastrous results for life on Earth. (Why it's not time to panic yet about the magnetic field flip.)
When National Geographic caught up with her by phone from her home in Toronto, Mitchell explained how a scientist in Maryland has built a giant contraption to try and mimic the earth's magnetic field; how satellites are peering more deeply inside the earth's core than ever before; and why something called the South Atlantic Anomaly may presage a new polar reversal.
The magnetic field that protects our planet from solar and galactic radiation, the dangerous rays that can harm things on our planet, is generated in the outer core. As energy travels through that core it creates an electrical current, which in turn creates a magnetic shield that goes far out into space. In the 1980s, scientists started to send satellites up into the atmosphere and get these little glimpses of what was happening to the magnetic shield. Through math, they are able to take those calculations from outer space and look at what's happening inside this molten outer core, where the field is generated . . ."

The Third Temple
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:" Amos 9:11
by Dr. Randall Price, March 01, 2017
From, The Jewish Voice
"Those who believe Scripture contains a literal fulfillment of the biblical covenants for the Jewish people and the Land of Israel recognize rebuilding the Temple is part of this promised future. In Jeremiah's presentation of the New Covenant for Israel, we read:
Behold, days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth. In those days Judah shall be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety; and this is the name by which she shall be called: the LORD is our righteousness.' For thus says the LORD, 'David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to prepare sacrifices continually.- Jeremiah 33:14–18, NASB
This passage speaks about the Messianic Age when all Israel will be saved and restored to the Land of Israel. At that time, a righteous descendant of David, the Messiah, will sit on the throne in Jerusalem, and the Temple will again stand complete with its Levitical priesthood. If this is to be a future reality, is there any sign of preparation for a third Temple in Israel today?
Since 1987, when the Temple Movement began preparations for the rebuilding of the Third Temple, efforts to see this become a reality in the 21st century have been slowly progressing. While modern Israel and a large percentage of the Jewish people throughout the Diaspora are secular, Orthodox Jews do not believe these people will play a role in the rebuilding of the Temple since it is a spiritual work. It is Orthodox Jews who revived the Sanhedrin, the religious body that supervised the halachic (legal) issues related to the Temple and who intend to see it rebuilt in a proper way . . ."

"History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new." Eccles. 1:9
By Nick Lichtenberg and Hillary Hoffower Jun 3, 2020, 12:32 PM
From Business Insider
A generational theory published in 1997 predicted a crisis-era that would climax around 2020. Alex Brandon/AP Photo
"America sees a "turning" every 20 years as one generation displaces another, and the dynamic between one particular generation entering "elderhood" and another entering "young adulthood" creates a crisis every 80 years, according to a theory prophesied in Neil Howe and William Strauss' "The Fourth Turning."
According to the authors' predictions, the fourth turning is now upon us.
The authors wrote that the next crisis-era would start around 2005 and "climax" around 2020, and would involve millennials and boomers fighting over the shape of the world to come.
There are some similarities between recent events and the book's predictions: The 2008 financial crisis can be seen as the catalyst they mentioned, and so far in 2020, social, political, and economic issues have peaked during the pandemic and protests.
It's unclear whether the fourth turning as Howe and Strauss characterized it really is happening right now — but the parallels are certainly eye-catching . . ."

"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him..." Ezekiel 38:2
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
From WIO News
"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan didn't mince his words at this month's opening of parliament. In his first assertion of a claim to a lost non-Turkic part of the Ottoman Empire, Mr Erdogan declared that Jerusalem is Turkish.
"In this city, which we had to leave in tears during the First World War, it is still possible to come across traces of the Ottoman resistance. So Jerusalem is our city, a city from us," Mr. Erdogan said.
He went on to say that "the current appearance of the Old City, which is the heart of Jerusalem, was built by Suleiman the Magnificent, with its walls, bazaar, and many buildings. Our ancestors showed their respect for centuries by keeping this city in high esteem."
Mr Erdogan was referring to the 16th century Ottoman sultan, a sponsor of monumental architectural development, who is widely viewed as having protected his Jewish subjects . . ."

Come, Follow Me,...Matthew 4:19
by Mel Walker, August 10, 2020.
From Christianity.com
"When Christ called His first disciples He simply said, "Follow Me."
These humble fishermen responded by leaving their careers, their possessions, and even their families to follow Him (Matthew 4:18-22).
A parallel passage in Luke 5:1-11 uses the phrase "they forsook all" as they began this new journey with Jesus. The word "forsake" literally means that they turned their back on their former lives. It implies a choice and a commitment.
This wasn't just a part-time project for them where they could change their minds in a few days and go back to their profession as fishermen. They left everything — and by doing so they were making a promise to complete the course and finish this new assignment.
By agreeing to follow Jesus they consented to be His students or His learners in the Jewish method of a Rabbinical school of discipleship. They recognized Him as a teacher and a leader, and they made this commitment to be His disciples.
What Does it Mean to 'Follow' Jesus?
It's interesting to note that the first directive that Jesus ever said to His disciple Peter, was "follow Me" (Matthew 4:19), and the last thing that Jesus said to Peter was also, "follow Me" (John 21:22) . . ."

Emergency Preparedness
"If ye are prepared ye shall not fear..."
BY JOHN RAMEY
From The Prepared
"When you go to the store and have some wiggle room in your budget, just buy a little extra of the same shelf-stable stuff you already use. You then make a small change to how you store that stuff at home. That's it! In the end, you've leveled up your preparedness without actually spending extra money or time on 'prepping.'
The FIFO (first in, first out) model is a core concept in prepping and something everyone should understand. It's so simple and powerful that, for many people, it becomes such a normal part of their thinking that they aren't even aware of it anymore. Once you start, it seems silly to stock everyday essentials any other way.
The goal is to build up a natural surplus of extra stuff that you already use in normal life but can last at least a few months in storage — namely non-perishable food and daily consumables like toiletries or batteries.
Tip: This model works really well when combined with the supermarket food list and home medical supplies list.
Those extras are part of your first layer of emergency supplies. It's kind of like having a corner convenience store in your own home. Except it's only stocked with the stuff you know you want . . ."
