The Prophecies of Daniel: Part 4, 70 Weeks-The Coming of the Messiah.

the-prophet-Daniel

Thousands of years ago, Daniel was told in a glorious vision by the angel Gabriel when the Messiah would come and redeem Israel.

The 70-Week prophecy of Daniel is one of the most important prophecies in either the Old or New Testaments. Throughout Church history, this prophecy has been considered one of the most esteemed messianic passages of the Old Testament. It foretold of the greatest event to occur in the history of the world. Gabriel’s answer to Daniel’s humble prayer revealed to him and all those who read and understood it, that the Messiah would come and save His people.

Besides being such an important passage, Daniel’s 70-week prophecy is also one of the most notoriously difficult passages for readers to understand. This being the case, it has caused a wide variety of interpretations since it was recorded.

In this article I will explain the vision of Daniel so that you can have a greater appreciation of God’s foreknowledge and His love for us. As I discuss Daniel’s vision, I will try to explain the major interpretations of the 70-week prophecy but will not go into great detail, since these are varied and numerous. Libraries are filled with the countless articles and books about this vision...

Update on Books

No new updates this month. I am assuming that the submission editors are swamped with manuscripts from authors taking advantage of the quarantine, writing and editing their books. Just like I have. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but planning a Kickstarter campaign just in case.

"Is a cyber war brewing in the Middle East?"

Cyber Attacks

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN

MAY 12, 2020 01:25

"In the Middle East there has been an increased role of cyber war and cyber security, much as the region is also at the forefront of experiments with new weapon systems."

Iranian media revealed details on Monday about a cyber attack they claimed to have suffered at the port of Shahid Rajaei. The port had recently seen the installation of new container terminals and oil projects. Iranian media personalities and commentators have also boasted about a “cyber attack” against Israel, with memes posted that show Israel and Iranian flags next to futuristic computerized backgrounds. The incidents underpin wider cyber tensions and Iran’s attempt to build up its cyber offensive capabilities in recent years."

In the Middle East there has been an increased role of cyber war and cyber security, much as the region is also at the forefront of experiments with new weapon systems, from drones to ballistic missiles. In the last several years Iran has sought to boost its cyber warfare capabilities with the foundation of IRGC-supported “cyber warfare” units. Last year Iran’s “cyber army” was portrayed as being under attack from the US and other adversaries. The New Arab noted in February that Iran’s cyber army was on the lookout for opportunities. In response to the US killing of IRGC General Qasem Soleimani in early January, the cyber warriors from Tehran went hunting. They apparently struck a US government agency website on January 5..."

The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro...Isaiah 24:20

So, what could cause the earth to “reel to and fro”, " the moon being turned to blood" or the "stars to fall from heaven"? In volumes 1 and 2, I posted articles about a possible ninth planet orbiting our sun. A close encounter with a large gravitational force, such as another planet, could make the earth ‘reel’ or ‘wobble’ on its axis. In volume 3 I posted an article on pole shifts. Articles for last month and the this volume will cover another possible explanation for these events prophesied in the Bible, volcanic eruptions:

"April 10, 1815: Mount Tambora blows up"

Mount Tambora

Caldera of Mount Tambora

Skulls in the Stars

"Today is the 198th anniversary of the largest volcanic event in recorded history, the deadly and devastating eruption of Mount Tambora on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia. The eruption was four times as powerful as that of its later and more famous sibling, Mount Krakatoa, in 1883, and was equivalent to an 800 megaton explosion. For comparison, the Fat Man and Little Boy nuclear weapons dropped on Japan during World War II were roughly 12.5 kilotons each, and the largest nuclear weapon ever built — the Soviet Union’s Tsar Bomba — was tested at a relatively paltry 50 megatons.

The eruption of Tambora is a troubling reminder of the powerful forces that lie sleeping within the Earth. When the mountain blew, it ejected an estimated 160 cubic kilometers of material, with an eruption column some 43 kilometers high. Before the eruption, the mountain was 14,100 feet tall, and one of the tallest in Indonesia; afterwards, only 9,354 ft of its height remained. Ash was distributed throughout the upper atmosphere worldwide, resulting in significant climate effects, as we will note below....."

"Where in Jerusalem Were the Disciples Assembled On Pentecost?"

by John D. Keyser

From, Hope of Israel

Temple of Jerusalem

"Newly discovered evidence indicates possible original location of Solomon's temple."

"It is often positively asserted -- as if it were a recorded fact -- that this “upper room” was “the birthplace of the Church.” However, the truth is that the historical and Biblical records offer no proof whatsoever for the idea that the disciples were gathered in an upper room when the holy spirit came upon them. Not only that, but there is no proof that the upper room mentioned in Acts 1:13 was ever their assembling place during the days of their staying behind in Jerusalem, in obedience to Yeshua’s command. The fact that Eucherius links this spot to the resurrection, and the fact that Cyril indicates this spot is close to the basilica of the Holy Sepulcher, engenders immediate suspicion because it can be conclusively proven that the death and Resurrection of the Messiah took place on the Mount of Olives. For more information send for our article entitled, Just Where in Jerusalem Did Our Savior Die?

All that is claimed in the Bible regarding the “upper room” is that the apostles, after witnessing Yeshua’s ascension from the Mount of Olives, returned to Jerusalem and went to an upper room where Peter, James, John and the other of the eleven apostles were living -- see Acts 1:12-13. What appears from the records -- and ALL that appears -- is that those men, during their stay in Jerusalem, had their living quarters in an “upper room.” There is no suggestion whatsoever that the living quarters of these men was also the meeting place of the 120 disciples of the Messiah who were in Jerusalem at that time. There is still less reason for supposing that the morning of the great Feast-day would have found them gathered in such a place.

There was, in fact, only ONE PLACE in the city of Jerusalem where devout Judahites, of whatever sect, would have congregated on that morning. And there is only ONE PLACE where the events recorded in Acts 2 could possibly have transpired. That place is the Temple. But I don’t base this conclusion on inference alone. A careful study of the Bible reveals positive proof that it was in the Temple that the holy spirit of YEHOVAH God came “suddenly” upon Yeshua’s disciples, and that from the Temple the proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom of YEHOVAH God began to go forth into all of Israel! And I will show that it was the outflow of the Gospel -- “all the words of this life” (Acts 5:20) -- that was prefigured by the vision of “living waters” issuing from the Temple. ..."

"The Tytler Cycle"

by John Eberhard

From CommonSenseGovernment.com

Tytler Cycle

In a lecture by Dr. Shannon Brooks of George Wythe College "described the work of a man named Alexander Tytler, a Scottish historian who lived at the same time as the American Founding Fathers, who described a repeating cycle in history. He had found that societies went through this same cycle again and again, and that the cycle lasted roughly 200 years each time.

Tytler said the cycle starts out with a society in bondage.

Then it goes in this sequence:

Bondage

Spiritual Faith

Courage

Liberty

Abundance

Selfishness

Complacency

Apathy

Dependence

Then starting over with Bondage..."

From The Times of Israel

"Turkish nationalist, fascist and Islamist policies are a threat to world peace. Racism, fascism and ultra-nationalism does not become more pure because it has islamistic roots!

You rarely hear about how different regimes affect western politics, although it is so obvious that they do. For many years there has been talk of threats against EU, Israel and western powers from foreign powers, and especially from Russia and/or China. One of the regimes that has influenced the international community politics most recently is the Turkish one.

In recent years, no one has escaped Turkey’s imprisonment of MPs, professors, students and local politicians. Turkey has the highest proportion of imprisoned journalists in the world, (usually without evidence). Academic freedom dosen´t exist anymore in Turkey, and when it comes to human rights of minorities- Turkey hasn´t been this bad since Ataturks days.

I have been studying jihad-ism and militant Islamism for almost a decade now. What I have seen here in Sweden is that Sweden has failed in their national security policy, making Sweden one of the most biggest exporter of jihadis per capita in the western world. Their failure is largely due to Sweden being a civilized country, so civilized that our politicians have a very hard time understanding jihadism and thus fighting it..."

"10 Important Considerations Before You Follow Jesus"

Meredith Hodge

August 1, 2016

From Unlocking the Bible

"Nine years ago in my early twenties, I would have laughed at the person who’d predict that I’d be an unashamed, enthusiastic, passionate follower of Jesus Christ. Before placing saving faith in Christ as my Lord and Savior, I cherished independence, my sinful lifestyle and pleasures, and everything the world had to offer me without repercussion.

When I put my faith in Jesus Christ, my heart changed dramatically, but it wasn’t until I opened my Bible that I understood what it meant to follow him.

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus repeatedly commands, “Follow me.” While most of these instances specifically called the 12 men who would become his disciples (Matthew 10:3–4), other cases show Jesus was calling anyone throughout the ages who wanted what he had to offer them (John 3:16; Mark 8:34).

The same words personally invite us today: “Follow me.” But this invitation goes beyond adapting new habits, embracing Christian beliefs, and living moral lives. The Scriptures give ample evidence of what we should consider.

Before you follow Jesus, reflect on these 10 important considerations:

1. Be willing to obey and submit.

Following Jesus does not mean you live independently from his example and instruction. Christ’s followers trustfully obey and submit to his will by faith, even when it exceeds understanding. “Jesus answered him, ‘If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him’” (John 14:23)..."

"Free 78 Item Preppers Checklist: Not Just What But Why"

By Just In Case Jack

From Skilled Survival

Prepper Checklist

"This Is Skilled Survival’s 78 Item Preppers List A prepper’s supply list that not only tells you what to stock for future emergencies but also why.

We’ll deep dive into all the core prepper essentials.

Stuff everyone needs to survive (like food and water) but also cover some lesser-known items as well.

We’ll also go over a few of the best solutions for each item.

By the end of this preppers list – you’ll have your own stockpiling game plan for a variety of emergencies.

Here at Skilled Survival, we plan for the worst and hope for the best.

That means this preppers list is extensive and is written with a worst-case scenario in mind.

A long term, widespread, emergency disaster in which life, as we know, becomes changed for a very long time.

Some people call such a major disaster event “TEOTWAWKI” (the end of the world as we know it) others call it “SHTF” (sh@t hits the fan).

And we could argue endlessly how likely any of these scenarios are, but we’re not interested in that conversation today.

Instead, if you plan for the worst, your plan will cover all emergencies big or small, long or short.

If you plan for the worst, you’ll be ready. And that’s what’s important..."
