The Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, Part 1: Who Are They

The Lost Ten Tribes

The story of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel has captivated me since I was a young boy in Sunday school. I have always been fascinated by the Bible, history and a good mystery. The tale of the Lost Tribes entails all three.

Over the centuries many academics, scholars, historians and adventurers have sought after the elusive legends of the Lost Tribes and their whereabouts. Theories abound as to there location. Were they scattered among established groups of early Europe and Asia tribes and lost their identity as a people? Did the Ten Tribes migrate to places like England, Scandinavia, India, Japan, Africa, China, Kurdistan, the Caucasus, Yemen, Persia, Afghanistan, or even the Americas? Even more fantastic theories propose that the Ten Tribes traveled to the center of our theoretically hollow earth or that they have even left this planet altogether and live on another sphere nearby.

To tell the tale of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel we must start in the distant past. No, not as far back as Adam and Eve or even Noah. We must start with one of the most revered patriarchs of the Old Testament, Abraham, the "father of many nations"...

"How Iran might react to the explosions impacting the country"

From Jerusalem Post

Natanz Nuclear Facility, Iran.

By YONAH JEREMY BOB

JULY 9, 2020 21:43

"The six explosions Iran experienced in recent weeks may be looked back on as a major inflection point in the nuclear standoff between the ayatollahs and the US, Israel and the Saudis.

It will be some time before we get clarity about who did it and how effective the explosions were in slowing Iran’s path to a nuclear bomb or altering its aggressive policy in general.

But The Jerusalem Post spoke to a number of former cyber intelligence officials in Israel and the US, with two going extensively on record about how an insider would understand the recent week’s events.

Both former IDF cyber intelligence official Yaron Rosen and former US Air Force cyber intelligence official Jeff Bardin, each of whom now also heads highly successful private cyber companies, revealed to the Post deeper perspectives on the issues under debate and which could frame the region’s future..."

Did God stop the son for Jashua for one day? Or could it have been a solar eclipse as scientists explain in this article?

"Eclipse ‘stopped the sun’ for biblical Joshua, Israeli scientists say"

Jashua Stops the sun

Joshua Commanding the Sun to Stand Still upon Gibeon, John Martin, 1816 (Wikipedia)

By TOI STAFF, 16 January 2017, 10:35 pm

From The Times of Israel

"According to the biblical story, Joshua got help from the sun to earn the Israelites one of their most epic victories. Now, a team of Israeli scientists say they’ve figured out how: The battle coincided with a solar eclipse.

Using NASA data, three scientists from Beersheba’s Ben Gurion University, in a newly published paper, dated the eclipse and the battle to October 30, 1207 BCE.

Chapter 10 of the Book of Joshua relates that soon after Joshua and the Israelites entered the Promised Land, they waged battle against five armies which laid siege to the Gibeonites. Joshua had promised to protect the Gibeonites, so he led an army and defeated the five kings. Joshua prayed that God help the Israelites in their battle by stopping the sun:

“Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord delivered the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel: ‘Sun, stand still [dom] upon Gibeon; and you, Moon, in the valley of Ayalon.'” (Joshua 10:12).

The researchers noted other ancient stories where a deity stops the sun, but said the biblical story is unique because it also mentions the role of the moon. That led them to the conclusion that it referred to a solar eclipse, during which the moon passes in between the sun and the earth, blocking the sunlight ..."

Third Temple

The Third Temple

"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:" Amos 9:11

"Solomon's Temple Explained"

Jul 19, 2018

From, Redeemer of Israel

Temple Tour

Solomon's temple stood in Jerusalem for almost 400 years. It was the crown jewel of Jerusalem, and the center of worship to the Lord. Almost half of the Old Testament writings took place during the time when Solomon's temple was still standing. Understanding the significance of its location, history, and design can greatly add to one's reverence for one of the most holy places in the world.

The city of Jerusalem is located in an area of three major valleys, the Hinnom, the central or Tyropoeon, and the Kidron valley. The mountain range between the Central and Kidron valley is called Mount Moriah. The peak of the mountain is a large protruding flat rock, which is now located under the Dome of the Rock. According to Genesis 22:2 Abraham was commanded to sacrifice Isaac in the "region of Moriah" connecting the temple mount with this significant event.

At the time of king David, the area of Jerusalem was controlled by the Jebusites, the city only occupying the southern part of the central ridge. When David captured the city in about 1000 BC, he made Jerusalem his capital. David then moved the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem and began preparations for building a permanent structure to replace the portable Tabernacle of Moses that had been used for over 400 years. With the ancient city of Jerusalem being fairly small, David purchased the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite so he could expand the size of the city. Being higher than the city of David, the hill top would make a beautiful place to build the Temple of the Lord. Under the reign of David’s son, King Solomon the Temple construction began. After seven years of construction, in about 960 BC, Solomon finished building the temple, most likely built over this same protruding rock of mount Moriah. Solomon also built himself a new palace just south of the temple and expanded the walls and the city up towards the peak of mount Moriah..."

"History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new." Eccles. 1:9

Cycles were not only found by historians but also by economists. The Kondratieff Wave, named after Russian economist Nikolai Kondratieff, refers to cycles, lasting about 40 to 60 years, experienced by capitalist economies. The theory was not welcomed in Kondratieff's Russia. His views were anathema to communist officials, especially Josef Stalin, because they suggested that capitalist nations were not on an inevitable path to destruction but, rather, that they experienced ups and downs. As a result, he ended up in a concentration camp in Siberia and was shot by a firing squad in 1938.

"What is Kondratieff Wave?"

From the Corporate Finance Institute

Kondratieff Wave

"The Kondratieff Wave is a concept that was introduced during the Russian Communist era by a sociologist economist, Nikolai D. Kondratieff. He noticed that agricultural products and copper prices underwent long-term economic cycles that he believed to be a result of technological innovation and periods of evolution.

Kondratieff first introduced the concept of long wave theory in his 1925 book, “The Major Economic Cycles.” Later in 1939, another economist, Joseph Schumpeter, suggested naming the long waves “Kondratieff Waves” in honor of the Russian economist’s work.

Economists estimate that the waves last for 40 to 60 years, with each cycle demonstrating alternate intervals of high and low growth rates. Since the 18th century, economists have identified five Kondratieff Waves, with the first wave occurring during the invention of the steam engine and lasting from 1780 to 1830.

The second cycle continued from 1830 up to 1880, driven by the growth of the steel industry and the railroads. The third, fourth and fifth cycles lasted from 1880 to about 2005, and economists believe that a sixth cycle started in 2005..."

The Hagia Sophia was once a historic Christian cathedral prior to the Muslim invasion of Constantinople.

"'Only going to get worse': After Hagia Sophia ruling, many fear what's next from Erdoğan"

Hagia Sofia

The Hagia Sofia or, in English, the Church of the Devine Wisdom is an architectural wonder that is said to define the heart and soul of Istanbul, Turkey. Built as a Greek Orthodox Church in AD 537 it was the world's largest building, an engineering marvel of its time that is said to have changed the history of architecture.

By Kristina Jovanovski, July 17, 2020, 1:40 AM PDT

From NBC News

"The conversion of Istanbul's symbolic, shape-shifting Hagia Sophia edifice back into a mosque is being described as a victory for the conservative religious agenda of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Hagia Sophia was once a cathedral, and then it was a mosque. And then, in 1934, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk— the founder of modern Turkey, who aspired to build a secular state — declared it a museum.

After a Turkish court annulled Atatürk's decision one week ago, Erdoğan swiftly declared the Hagia Sophia to be — once again — a mosque.

Analysts said the decision showed how desperate the president is to maintain his popularity among his religious and nationalist conservative base, which has kept him in power for years — but which is now seen to be waning..."

Come, Follow Me,...Matthew 4:19

"Becoming a Disciple of Jesus: He Demands Our All

by William “Bill” Kynes, Ph.D.

From the C.S. Lewis Institute

"...As you look at the ministry of Jesus in the gospels you see that he was attracting a large army of people who surrounded him wherever he went. They thought that his journey to Jerusalem was a victory march for the crowning of the Messiah. They wanted to be there when he claimed his throne—to bask in his reflected glory and to grab a share of the prize for themselves.

But Jesus didn’t want any misunderstanding. There was to be no neglected small print. He wanted to make it quite clear what was required of anyone who would be his disciple and enter the kingdom of God. Consider these words: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:26). Or these: “In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:33).

Jesus is declaring what it means to become his follower, a member of his army. And no one should enlist without fully understanding what it demands and without first counting the cost (cf. Luke 14:28-32). From the beginning Jesus is entirely upfront and honest. This is an all-or-nothing proposition. You must follow me completely or not at all. In contrast to your commitment to me, you must hate your father and mother, your wife and children. ..."

"Top 5 Survival Things To Have In Case Of Civil Unrest"

By Thomas Conroy, August 7, 2014

From Ammoland

Riot Preparation

"We’ve seen huge, violent and deadly political protests break out in Egypt, or more recently in Kiev, Ukraine UNited Kingdom and USA..

We’ve seen widespread looting and vandalism happen on the heels of major natural disasters. We’ve also come to expect the almost-routine riots that seem to occur whenever a professional or major college sports team wins – or loses – a championship.

In 2011, mellow, laid-back Vancouver in polite, friendly Canada saw major rioting when the Boston Bruins beat the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup. There’s nothing like the smell of overturned, burning cars in the morning, eh?

The point is, you can have civil unrest anywhere you have human beings.

So it pays to be prepared to face this potentially life-threatening situation. I’ve compiled a list of things that could help should rioting, looting and general mayhem develop in your immediate location.

But I want to make something clear. Because this article is on Ammoland.com, I’m assuming that you already own a firearm or ten, and maybe enough ammunition to supply a Marine rifle platoon. So I’m leaving guns and ammo off the list, because you’ve probably got that well covered. If you don’t, what is wrong with you? Do something to fix that situation, now..."
