The Prophecies of Daniel: Part 4, 70 Weeks-The Coming of the Messiah.

Thousands of years ago, Daniel was told in a glorious vision by the angel Gabriel when the Messiah would come and redeem Israel.
The 70-Week prophecy of Daniel is one of the most important prophecies in either the Old or New Testaments. Throughout Church history, this prophecy has been considered one of the most esteemed messianic passages of the Old Testament. It foretold of the greatest event to occur in the history of the world. Gabriel's answer to Daniel's humble prayer revealed to him and all those who read and understood it, that the Messiah would come and save His people.
Besides being such an important passage, Daniel's 70-week prophecy is also one of the most notoriously difficult passages for readers to understand. This being the case, it has caused a wide variety of interpretations since it was recorded.
In this article I will explain the vision of Daniel so that you can have a greater appreciation of God's foreknowledge and His love for us. As I discuss Daniel's vision, I will try to explain the major interpretations of the 70-week prophecy but will not go into great detail, since these are varied and numerous. Libraries are filled with the countless articles and books about this vision...

Update on Books
I joined a great group of writers called the Henderson Writers Group. They have several meetings a week where you can read a few pages and get feedback from experience writers, editors, and literary agents. They have given me valuable advice to improve my writing. I plan on attending the Las Vegas Writers conference this month, and in July the Realm Makers Conference in St Louis. At both conferences I will meet with agents and editors to, hopefully, get my book professionally published. I'll keep you posted.

Wars and Rumor of Wars.... Matthew 24:6 Prophesies in the News:
"Why does the hard left glorify the Palestinians?"
Alan M. Dershowitz, opinion contributor 5/17/2021
"In a world in which massive violations of human rights have, tragically, become the norm, why has the hard left focused on one of the least compelling of those causes - namely, the Palestinians? Where is the concern for the Kurds, the Chechens, the Uyghurs, the Tibetans? There are no campus demonstrations on their behalf, no expressions of concern by "the Squad" in Congress, no United Nations resolutions, no recurring op-eds in The New York Times, and no claims that the nations that oppress these groups have no right to exist."
On the merits and demerits of their claims, the Palestinians have the weakest case. They have been offered statehood and independence on numerous occasions: in 1938, 1948, 1967, 2000-2001 and 2008. Israel ended its occupation of the Gaza Strip in 2005. Yet, even now, Palestinian leaders refuse to sit down and negotiate a reasonable two-state solution. As the late Israeli diplomat Abba Eban once aptly put it, the Palestinian leadership never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity...."

The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro...Isaiah 24:20
So, what could cause the earth to "reel to and fro", " the moon being turned to blood" or the "stars to fall from heaven"? In volumes 1 and 2, I posted articles about a possible ninth planet orbiting our sun. A close encounter with a large gravitational force, such as another planet, could make the earth 'reel' or 'wobble' on its axis. In volume 3 I posted an article on pole shifts. Articles for last month and the this volume will cover another possible explanation for these events prophesied in the Bible, volcanic eruptions:
Caldera of Mount Tambora
Posted on April 10, 2013
Skulls in the Stars
"Today is the 198th anniversary of the largest volcanic event in recorded history, the deadly and devastating eruption of Mount Tambora on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia. The eruption was four times as powerful as that of its later and more famous sibling, Mount Krakatoa, in 1883, and was equivalent to an 800 megaton explosion. For comparison, the Fat Man and Little Boy nuclear weapons dropped on Japan during World War II were roughly 12.5 kilotons each, and the largest nuclear weapon ever built — the Soviet Union's Tsar Bomba — was tested at a relatively paltry 50 megatons.
The eruption of Tambora is a troubling reminder of the powerful forces that lie sleeping within the Earth. When the mountain blew, it ejected an estimated 160 cubic kilometers of material, with an eruption column some 43 kilometers high. Before the eruption, the mountain was 14,100 feet tall, and one of the tallest in Indonesia; afterwards, only 9,354 ft of its height remained. Ash was distributed throughout the upper atmosphere worldwide, resulting in significant climate effects, as we will note below....."

The Third Temple
"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:" Amos 9:11
by John D. Keyser
From, Hope of Israel
"Newly discovered evidence indicates possible original location of Solomon's temple."
"It is often positively asserted -- as if it were a recorded fact -- that this "upper room" was "the birthplace of the Church." However, the truth is that the historical and Biblical records offer no proof whatsoever for the idea that the disciples were gathered in an upper room when the holy spirit came upon them. Not only that, but there is no proof that the upper room mentioned in Acts 1:13 was ever their assembling place during the days of their staying behind in Jerusalem, in obedience to Yeshua's command. The fact that Eucherius links this spot to the resurrection, and the fact that Cyril indicates this spot is close to the basilica of the Holy Sepulcher, engenders immediate suspicion because it can be conclusively proven that the death and Resurrection of the Messiah took place on the Mount of Olives. For more information send for our article entitled, Just Where in Jerusalem Did Our Savior Die?
All that is claimed in the Bible regarding the "upper room" is that the apostles, after witnessing Yeshua's ascension from the Mount of Olives, returned to Jerusalem and went to an upper room where Peter, James, John and the other of the eleven apostles were living -- see Acts 1:12-13. What appears from the records -- and ALL that appears -- is that those men, during their stay in Jerusalem, had their living quarters in an "upper room." There is no suggestion whatsoever that the living quarters of these men was also the meeting place of the 120 disciples of the Messiah who were in Jerusalem at that time. There is still less reason for supposing that the morning of the great Feast-day would have found them gathered in such a place.
There was, in fact, only ONE PLACE in the city of Jerusalem where devout Judahites, of whatever sect, would have congregated on that morning. And there is only ONE PLACE where the events recorded in Acts 2 could possibly have transpired. That place is the Temple. But I don't base this conclusion on inference alone. A careful study of the Bible reveals positive proof that it was in the Temple that the holy spirit of YEHOVAH God came "suddenly" upon Yeshua's disciples, and that from the Temple the proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom of YEHOVAH God began to go forth into all of Israel! And I will show that it was the outflow of the Gospel -- "all the words of this life" (Acts 5:20) -- that was prefigured by the vision of "living waters" issuing from the Temple.

"History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new." Eccles. 1:9
by John Eberhard
03/14/09
From CommonSenseGovernment.com
In 2003 I became very interested in a theory developed by Scottish historian Alexander Tytler, and wrote an article on it at the time, which ironically enough is now getting a lot of attention due to being linked to from Wikipedia.
Tytler's theory set forth a cycle that every democracy goes through, which goes like this. Tytler said the cycle starts out with a society in bondage. Then it goes in this sequence:
Bondage
Spiritual Faith
Courage
Liberty
Abundance
Selfishness
Complacency
Apathy
Dependence
Then starting over with Bondage..."
I was fascinated with this because to me it seemed to explain what we are going through as a country right now, where people are more interested in how they can somehow soak the system to get their free ride, than building anything. Clearly we are on the left side of this cycle, somewhere in the selfishness, complacency, apathy or dependence side..."

"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him..." Ezekiel 38:2
Main battle tank Altay of Otokar at the IDEF 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey.
From Daily Sabah
"Despite a scaling down in Turkish foreign policy since 2016, particularly in parallel to rising security anxieties at home and due to the worsening security environment in the Middle East, Turkey's growing appetite for international agency and visibility has already passed the point of no return. Even though current economic problems and increasing security anxieties appear to somehow limit Turkey's foreign policy ambitions, many Turkey observers share the view that Turkey has already become a rising power that aspires to play influential roles in its neighborhood and all over the world. Turkey's ongoing activism in Syria, the Eastern Mediterranean and Libya as well as the growing appetite to play credible roles in regional and global governance attest to this. Turkey's global activism in the context of defeating COVID-19 is another vindication of its unsaturated ambitions.
Similar to many other middle-level rising powers, Turkey is presumed to be determined to help bring into existence a new world order which would be more representative of the current distribution of power capabilities across the globe as well as reflect its norms and preferences. However, analysts would also do well to highlight that Turkey has long been a member of the Western international community, and Westernization or the Europeanization processes continue to shape Turkey's ongoing identity transformation. Turkey's decadeslong interaction with Western powers within existing international institutions should always be taken into account in assessing how Turkey locates itself in the emerging world order..."

Come, Follow Me,...Matthew 4:19
by Thomas A. Tarrants, III, Director of Ministry, C.S. Lewis Institute
From the Fall 2011 issue of Knowing & Doing
"As Jesus traveled throughout Israel urging people to repent and believe the gospel, "Follow me" was a constant refrain in his message. At the beginning of his ministry, he called his first disciples with the terse command, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." As his ministry progressed, he told the crowds, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me" (Mark 8:34). At the end of his earthly ministry, he recommissioned the repentant Peter with the words, "Follow me" (John 21:19).
Have you ever probed the meaning of this phrase? If not, you should, because it can lead to a profound, transforming change in how you think about and live the Christian life. Perhaps this article can help get you started.
What does it mean to follow Jesus? Following Jesus begins when we respond to his call to repent and believe the gospel. The Good News that God loves us and has taken the initiative to reconcile us to himself by giving his Son to atone for our sins awakens us to God's grace and moves us to want to live for Christ and follow him.
When we turn our attention to what the Bible shows us about how to actually follow Jesus in daily life, two things stand out immediately: understanding and obeying his teaching and following his example. Let's take them in turn..."

Emergency Preparedness
"If ye are prepared ye shall not fear..."
By Glenn Beck
From Glennbeck.com
"This Is Skilled Survival's 78 Item Preppers List
A prepper's supply list that not only tells you what to stock for future emergencies but also why.
We'll deep dive into all the core prepper essentials.
Stuff everyone needs to survive (like food and water) but also cover some lesser-known items as well.
We'll also go over a few of the best solutions for each item.
By the end of this preppers list – you'll have your own stockpiling game plan for a variety of emergencies.
Here at Skilled Survival, we plan for the worst and hope for the best.
That means this preppers list is extensive and is written with a worst-case scenario in mind.
A long term, widespread, emergency disaster in which life, as we know, becomes changed for a very long time.
Some people call such a major disaster event "TEOTWAWKI" (the end of the world as we know it) others call it "SHTF" (sh@t hits the fan).
And we could argue endlessly how likely any of these scenarios are, but we're not interested in that conversation today.
Instead, if you plan for the worst, your plan will cover all emergencies big or small, long or short.
If you plan for the worst, you'll be ready.
And that's what's important..."
